UVA Appoints New Director of Women's Center

The University of Virginia’s Maxine Platzer Lynn Women’s Center will welcome its new director, Abigail L. Palko, in July, the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost announced recently. Palko is only the second director of the Women’s Center, which Sharon Davie directed from its founding in 1989 until her retirement last year. Program Inspires Minority Students to Pursue Research, Careers in STEM Fields

The Virginia-North Carolina Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation held its annual symposium in April, showcasing student research. Led by UVA, the alliance comprises nine colleges and universities participating in the National Science Foundation-funded Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation, which supports more than 40 collaborative programs across the U.S. (READ MORE)

UVA Gives Diversity Awards to Longtime Professors McDowell and Dukes

Let’s Talk: UVA to Hold ‘Diversity Dialogues’ Nov. 5 and 6

Diversity Dialogues is a series of workshops where students, faculty, and staff will engage in dialogues on topics related to diversity and inclusion, with the goal of unifying efforts across Grounds and creating a more inclusive UVA.
